Alan joined A J Park as a partner at the beginning of 2005.  Alan is one of New Zealand's leading intellectual property experts.  He has a strong track record working with some of New Zealand's top companies, to apply his knowledge of international best practice in intellectual property strategy and management.

Alan's background in trade marks and intellectual property dispute resolution is complemented by over five years (three as a partner) working in a New Zealand commercial law firm. Alan's areas of expertise include Intellectual Property management and strategy, with an emphasis on trade marks.

Alan works closely with in-house counsel and their internal clients, to ensure strategy decisions fit with commercial objectives. In conjunction with his clients, Alan has developed and implemented the brand protection strategy for some of New Zealand's most valuable brands.

Alan is a Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Patent Attorneys (NZIPA) and a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ).
