New website makes life easier for New Zealand businesses

How do you take a holiday from your business when you are the business? What about trying to manage cashflow when it seems to be flowing one way?

These are typical challenges that thousands of busy New Zealanders face every day as they tackle the task of running a business.

A new website, business.govt.nz, has been launched by Small Business Minister Lianne Dalziel to help people in business deal with these challenges and get the rewards they deserve from successfully being in business.

The site has been developed with input from a range of government and non-government business experts, making it the ultimate New Zealand business resource. Nearly half of its content comes from private sector organisations including A J Park.

business.govt.nz is the place for small and medium sized enterprises, and other business people, to find and access all government business information and services. The site is also a gateway for business people to find and connect with the latest information available from the wider business community.

business.govt.nz provides independent business information and resources to everyone. New Zealanders needing reliable business information fast, will find it at business.govt.nz.

Business organisations and service providers, meanwhile, can use it to help their clients, customers and members plug in to New Zealand business the easy way.

The site replaces the previous biz.org.nz website and expands the information and services that it provided by harvesting information from a range of relevant websites and seamlessly steering people to that content on business.govt.nz.

As well as steering you to information you are actively seeking, business.govt.nz also highlights information you need to know but might not have thought about previously.

The new site is also more interactive and actively takes information out to businesses and the business community.

You can personalise business.govt.nz by registering for the “my business” service which allows you to:

• keep track of events and important dates with the business calendar
• quicklink favourite topics and places to come back to
• set alerts on the information that interests you and receive email updates
• subscribe to the businessINSIDER e-newsletter for the latest business information.

The site is now live, so bookmark business.govt.nz as your reference point for information on doing business.
