Christine joined AJ Park in 1997, and specialises in patents for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and food companies.
Christine is part of the biotechnology patents team and her work relates to a number of industries including chemical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical, dairy and the food industry.
Christine's work involves:
- conducting patentability and freedom to operate searches
- filing and prosecuting patent applications
- drafting patent specifications
- advising on patent validity and infringement
- advising on patent filing strategies.
Christine works for both New Zealand and international clients to advise them on patent protection, enforcement and licensing. Christine's local clients include crown research institutes, universities, biotech and food companies. Her overseas clients include major pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Christine held post-doctoral research positions at the Institute of Cellular Pathology at the University of Catholique de Louvain, in Brussels, Belgium and the Biochemistry department of the University of Liverpool. Christine joined a UK firm of patent agents in 1991 and qualified to intermediate level as an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Agents (CIPA).
