Have you thought about a career in intellectual property (IP)? If the answer is yes, then you’ll want to work with one of Australasia's leading IP firms.
AJ Park works with global businesses, start-ups, SMEs, government and universities to develop and implement IP strategies to assist in commercialising their brands and technologies. This includes identifying, protecting and enforcing IP rights associated with their brands, knowledge and innovation.
If you’ve studied engineering, but you’ve decided that a career in conventional engineering isn’t for you, then read on as this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
When joining AJ Park, you’ll be mentored by experienced patent attorneys who work across a range of clients and technologies. You’ll get to assess client design proposals, review uniqueness, assess risk associated with competitor IP rights, advise on IP strategy, and also prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications in New Zealand, Australia and internationally.
The work involves innovative cutting-edge technologies and iconic brands across an interesting and challenging mix of technical and legal issues. You must have a natural aptitude for understanding and working with technical subject matter and an analytical and meticulous approach. A passion for technical writing and good written and oral communication skills are essential for this role.
AJ Park has an enviable and long-established reputation in the market. We consistently rank among the leading IP firms in Australasia, and are recognised as having one of the top specialist teams of IP experts in the world. In 2017, we were once again named ‘Specialist IP Firm of the Year’ in the NZ Law Awards for the fifth year running, and several of our people have received numerous accolades for their work. We are proud of our achievements, which are testimony to the quality of work we are privileged to do on behalf of our clients.
