Patent search analyst
Engineering with a twist! If you've studied engineering, and are open minded about using your engineering knowledge in another way, then this opportunity in the intellectual property (IP) field may be for you.
Are you interested in joining an intellectual property law firm working with cutting-edge technologies and iconic brands? As one of Australasia’s leading IP firms, with offices in Auckland and Wellington, AJ Park helps global businesses, innovators and entrepreneurs protect and commercialise their IP.
The growth of our Auckland patent team has opened an opportunity for a person with an aptitude for understanding technical subject matter and searching databases. In this role, you'll be comfortable with mechanical technologies and preferably electrical and ICT technologies. If you are a mechanical, electrical, mechatronics or chemical and processing graduate, you’d be well-suited to this role, although anyone with a suitable background would be considered.
The focus of the role is technical searching of online patent databases to identify relevant publications, and reporting search results. This role involves working with search tools provided by databases and search engines, and using Boolean keyword searching. As you progress, you'll develop an awareness of state of the art patent searching and analysis tools. A passion for technical writing and good written and oral communication skills are essential for this role.
You may be a recent graduate, or part-way through a post-graduate qualification, and looking for a permanent full-time role where you can apply your natural aptitude for understanding and working with technical subject matter. If you have the ability to conduct searching work, an eye for detail, and an analytical and meticulous approach to your work, then this role may just be the career for you.
AJ Park has an enviable and long-established reputation in the market. It is a great place to work, and we are proud of our people. If you enjoy the collegiality of a team with a good mix of like-minded graduates, lots of social and sporting activities, and envisage growing your career in a values-based firm, please complete the form below and upload your CV and cover letter.
