Public submissions on the Marrakesh Treaty

In October 2015, the New Zealand Government's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) released a discussion document to determine whether New Zealand should accede to the Marrakesh Treaty. This treaty provides for copyright exceptions within national laws to improve visually-impaired people's access to copyright works in accessible formats (such as braille, audio or large print books).

MBIE has now invited public submissions on the Marrakesh Treaty. The closing date for
submissions is Friday 26 February 2016.

Please contact us if you would like assistance with making submissions or would like to know more about the potential impact of any changes that may be needed to the Copyright Act. A copy of the paper is available on MBIE's website.
