We're going bananas over a recent collaboration between two of our clients, Thunderpants and All Good. They've joined forces to make the ultimate pair of banana-printed underwear that any hero would be proud to wear — all in support of another great local organisation, Kaibosh Food Rescue. For every pair sold, five dollars and a bunch of Fair Trade bananas go to Kaibosh to help fight food poverty!
Rumour has it, the pants collaboration came about from a discussion that Josie (Thunderpants) and Matt (All Good) had during an AJ Park event. But, the truth may be, this was just a great opportunity to fulfil a long-time desire to collaborate.
This is an excellent example of how businesses, charities, and social enterprises can share or license intellectual property and give back. We're proud to see them working together to raise money for a great cause.
Collaboration in action
All Good is doing good all over the country. They have been busy working on other collaborations with numerous local cafes and coffee roasters, plus Little Island (coconut-based ice cream), and Wellington Chocolate Factory. All Good is celebrating the five-year anniversary since they brought the first Fair Trade bananas into New Zealand, and we can't wait to see what they come up with next!
So far, Kiwis have eaten 45 million All Good bananas, and All Good has contributed $6.5 million to the economy in El Guabo, Ecuador. Over $600,000 has gone into development projects including schools and medical centres.
Thunderpants is kicking butt with the sale of its 100% organic cotton product line, including kids' clothes, swimwear, yoga pants, leggings, tops and camis. Each year, over 30,000 pairs of Thunderpants are produced and manufactured in New Zealand. Thunderpants regularly gives back, and (pun intended) takes it off its bottom-line to support local organisations. We're looking forward to its next collaboration!
