AJ Park earns a band 1 rating in the Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific 2018 rankings

AJ Park is thrilled to have earned a band 1 rating as the top New Zealand firm for intellectual property in the Chambers and Partners Asia-Pacific 2018 rankings published on 7 December 2017. Chambers & Partners conducts extensive research on law firms and lawyers in 185 jurisdictions. Law firms and individual lawyers are ranked in bands from 1-6, with 1 being the best. The qualities on which rankings are assessed include technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by clients. 

The Asia-Pacific 2018 guide highlights that AJ Park is known for having a superb offering, giving solid advice on patents, trade marks and copyright, covering both advisory and contentious work, acting for global corporations and leading domestic businesses across a broad range of sectors including technology, media and manufacturing, handling both domestic and international matters, with a particular commitment to enforcing the IP rights of its clients. One of Chambers’ sources described AJ Park as a ‘pre-eminent boutique IP firm’ and that our skill and experience in patent attorney work is a distinguishing point.

The Chambers Asia-Pacific guide also highlights notable practitioners, and recognised four principals of AJ Park. John Hackett is described as a ‘standout person in the IP space’ and ‘a prolific and esteemed practitioner’. Matt Adams is recommended for his in-depth technical knowledge in relation to patent infringements, technology transfer agreements and copyright enforcement.
