AJ Park receives top rating for trade mark matters in New Zealand

News  \  18 Feb 2014

AJ Park is thrilled to earn a gold band rating as the top New Zealand firm for trade mark matters in the fourth edition of the World Trademark Review (WTR) 1000. The WTR 1000 remains the only standalone publication to recommend individual practitioners and their firms exclusively in the trade mark field, and identifies the leading players in over 60 key jurisdictions globally.

WTR summarises AJ Park as 'the dominant force in the New Zealand IP scene', noting that 'its diverse team of professionals match technical knowledge with remarkably broad commercial awareness.'

'We aim to provide our clients with sound advice on how to build and protect their brand. This honour reinforces our commitment to understanding our clients' business before we act,' says Chief Executive Pete Boyle.

The WTR 1000 also highlights individual leading lawyers, and recognised four partners at AJ Park. Chairman John Hackett was acknowledged for his 'exemplary' prosecution and portfolio management work. Kim McLeod was recognised as 'a tenacious negotiator and formidable opponent' on contested matters. Trade marks partner Damian Broadley 'excels in all aspects of trademark practice and has extensive experience of domain name disputes'.
