Seven IP, commercial and litigation experts move up the ranks

It’s that time of year again and AJ Park is very proud to announce the promotions of the following executives, which will take effect on 1 April.

Four promoted to senior associate

Grace Thomas-Edmond has been promoted to senior associate. As a member of our commercial team in Wellington, Grace provides commercial advice to AJ Park’s clients with a focus on technology, intellectual property (IP) licence agreements and related issues. These include IP ownership and strategy, infringement issues, and the protection of confidential information and trade secrets.

Based in Wellington, Helen Bellchambers is a patent specialist and lawyer who works with both our biotechnology and chemistry patents team and litigation and dispute resolution team. Helen works with clients from around the world to protect their inventions and provides advice on infringement, opposition and revocation matters.

Katherine Sutcliffe joined AJ Park nearly six years ago. Katherine’s intellectual property experience is extensive, with experience in leading law firms in New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Katherine advises on all aspects of trade mark and related intellectual property law in a wide range of industry sectors. These include: food and beverage, banking, fitness, construction, entertainment, telecommunications, retail and manufacturing.

Since joining AJ Park in 2012, Laura Carter has been quickly moving up the ranks. Friendly, hardworking and approachable, Laura has a reputation for being a safe and conscientious pair of hands. Working in our litigation team in Auckland, she advises clients on contentious trade mark, patent and copyright matters, as well as other tricky issues clients face in the IP space.

Three promoted to associate

Daniel Hearn has been promoted to associate in our mechanical patents team based in Auckland. He has a hands on role in helping clients of all sizes, from sole inventors to large corporates, identify and use their IP wisely. Daniel is involved in a large variety of industry sectors and is able to grasp new technologies quickly.

Jessica Miles is a solicitor in our litigation team. She specialises in researching and preparing evidence and submissions in various intellectual property matters. Her expertise includes litigation, anti-counterfeiting, and trade mark and copyright disputes.

Stacey Campbell joined AJ Park from a journalism background, writing for a daily metropolitan newspaper. She’s now a solicitor in our litigation and dispute resolution team in Wellington, specialising in intellectual property infringement, oppositions and revocations, anti-counterfeiting and domain names.

Managing partner, Damian Broadley, says these promotions are all well-deserved.
