Megan is an associate in the engineering and IT team. She advises clients on the patent prosecution process and IP strategy, specialising in mechanical, software and business method inventions.
Expertise
Megan advises clients on a range of issues relating to patents, including conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate searches, drafting new patent applications, prosecuting patent applications through to grant, infringement and validity. She also advises clients in respect of design rights and helps clients obtain design protection for their products.
Experience
Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Oxford. Following university, Megan trained as a patent attorney in London with a top tier UK IP firm, achieving dual qualification as a UK and European patent attorney before relocating to New Zealand.
Megan has experience working with a variety of clients, from individual inventors to large multi-national corporations, across a range of jurisdictions. She has particular experience working in the UK and European sectors which brings a global perspective to her work.
Outside of work
Outside of work, Megan is a keen landscape and wildlife photographer. She also enjoys taking to the stage performing improv comedy and community theatre.
