Alex Coats

EXPERTISE

Alex performs a wide range of specialised trade mark administration tasks. She prepares and files trade mark applications across Australasia, documents recordal of assignments and other similar changes, and assists with preparing evidence of use. She also provides watching search and domain name services.

Alex has substantial experience working with clients in the food and beverage and beauty industries and she is a key point of liaison with IPONZ and IP Australia.

EXPERIENCE

Alex started her career with Baldwins in 2008 as a trade mark assistant. In 2010 she was seconded to the litigation team for 18 months before moving back into trade marks, her ‘first love’. In 2013, Alex became personal assistant to a principal and has remained in that role since.

After she returned from maternity leave in 2019, Alex assisted with training and developing a new team in AJ Park’s Auckland office. She found this role an immense challenge, but one that she really enjoyed.
