Expertise

Amanda is an integral part of AJ Park’s Auckland trade marks team, working to support one of the firm’s large clients and its business units. Her role involves filing and registering local and international trade mark applications, conducting trade mark searches, monitoring trade mark deadlines, and managing trade mark portfolios. Amanda also maintains clients’ special instructions, and prepares renewal schedules and recommendations.

Experience

Amanda currently works with clients in the building and construction industry. She has also worked with New Zealand and international companies from a range of industries including food and beverage, entertainment, and fitness.

After graduating from the University of Auckland with a BA in psychology and sociology, Amanda joined AJ Park in 2008 as a trade mark assistant. She was subsequently promoted to her position as a paralegal in 2013.

Working style

Detail-focused and patient, she enjoys the fact that her work requires great attention to detail, and she loves finding ways to build further efficiencies into her role. Over the years, Amanda has honed her problem-solving skills, and learnt how to deal with a wide range of personalities and adapt to different working styles.

Good communication is crucial in our line of business. I love the fact that I work with approachable people who are excellent at what they do.

Beyond work

Raised to be honest and hard-working, Amanda appreciates the simple things in life. When not at work, she spends her time on the football field or heading out on adventures with her partner and Munro, their sprollie (springer spaniel/border collie cross).
