Ethan Harrold

Ethan enjoys the creative process and strategy of intellectual property. Drawing upon years of multi-industry engineering industry, he assists his clients in navigating the best path to protect, commercialise, enforce, and defend their IP rights.

Expertise 

Ethan joined AJ Park in 2023 as a Patent Executive in the firm’s Engineering & IT team. He advises clients across a broad spectrum of IP-related issues, including patent preparation, analysis, prosecution, and infringement, IP strategy, and Freedom to Operate (FTO).

Experience

Ethan has five years of engineering and in-house IP experience, including two years spent working in China in an R&D-focussed role for a manufacturing company. 

His industry background comprises R&D and agile product development within automated manufacturing, structural and civil, packaging, food and confectionery, toys, and consumer goods projects. Throughout each project he was deeply involved in automation, mechanical engineering, product development, and in-house IP capture, strategy, and drafting. His career has pivoted to IP where he uses his expertise to help his clients protect their IP. 

Beyond work

Ethan spends most of his free time - when not changing nappies or washing bottles – learning a new song on piano, playing video games, or watching movies.
