Associate \ AJ Park IP Limited, Wellington
Samera is passionate about assisting clients with their brand and trade mark strategies.
Samera advises both local and international clients on trade mark availability and eligibility for registration. She conducts trade mark availability searches, files and prosecutes New Zealand, Australian and international trade mark applications and undertakes border protection matters, including the preparation and filing of customs notices.
Samera’s clients are predominantly multinational corporations operating in a variety of sectors, including food and beverage, cosmetics, technology, media and telecommunications, pharmaceuticals and fast-moving consumer goods.
“Working in a variety of sectors is exciting because each sector operates differently and has unique demands, challenges and considerations. I strive to achieve the right balance between the legal requirements and the clients’ business needs.”
Samera takes a 360-degree approach to her matters, putting in time and effort in order to provide an accurate and efficient service to her clients.
The starting point for me is to understand my client and their business, I then formulate advice that addresses their needs in the most practical way. There’s always a range of avenues you can take, and I love the process that leads to providing the client with the best solutions.
Samera worked as an associate in ENSafrica’s intellectual property department, where she specialised in trade mark litigation. Working at AJ Park, she has broadened her experience to include prosecuting trade marks in New Zealand, Australia and other international territories.
Outside of work hours, Samera enjoys catching up with family and friends, reading, painting and cooking.
