The Personal Properties Securities (PPS) Register is replacing IP Australia's registers of security interests for patents, trade marks, plant breeders' rights, and designs. Security interests recorded on IP Australia's registers are not being automatically migrated to the PPS Register.
All secured interests recorded on IP Australia's registers before 30 January 2012 must be recorded on the new PPS Register before 31 January 2014 to protect and maintain their priority.
