As an Associate at AJ Park, you will deliver exceptional client care and expert advice on all aspects of trade mark, copyright, and domain name law. You will guide clients through the full IP lifecycle - helping them protect, commercialise, enforce, and defend their rights, while contributing to the growth and reputation of the firm.
Key responsibilities
Technical
- Manage client matters independently with minimal supervision.
- Advise on trade mark availability, use, protection, and enforcement.
- Prepare and conduct trade mark searches and provide strategic recommendations.
- File, prosecute, and maintain trade mark applications across multiple jurisdictions.
- Deliver trade mark watching and domain name registration services.
- Manage opposition and cancellation proceedings, working closely with the litigation team.
- Handle recordals of assignments, licences, and ownership changes.
- Draft and advise on licensing and other commercial agreements, in collaboration with the commercial team.
- Provide general legal advice on copyright and related rights.
Financial
- Meet agreed financial targets (day book, WIP, billable and non-billable hours).
- Develop and maintain a commercial understanding of AJ Park’s business operations.
Leadership
- Manage client relationships and act as a trusted adviser.
- Contribute to team and firm-wide initiatives.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
Marketing and business development
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in clients’ industries and commercial goals.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including cross-selling services across the AJ Park and IPH network.
- Support client relationship management initiatives, contributing to client development plans
- Represent AJ Park at networking events, industry conferences, and professional forums.
- Contribute to thought leadership through articles, presentations, and commentary on IP issues.

Professional development
- Attends in-house and off-site seminars
- Keeps up to date and shares knowledge of developments in the IP field
