Matthew Corliss

Matthew specialises in trade mark protection, advising clients on filing strategies and brand enforcement across New Zealand, Australia, and international jurisdictions. With a practical, solutions-focused approach, he supports businesses in safeguarding their intellectual property at every stage of growth.

Experience

Prior to his legal training, Matthew spent five years in digital marketing, where he specialised in creating WordPress websites and managing Google Ads campaigns for a range of small to medium-sized enterprises across various industries.

He later joined McVeagh Fleming, working in the civil litigation team for eight months. During this time, he gained experience across a broad spectrum of matters, including property disputes, construction-related claims, and liquidation proceedings, and appeared in the High Court on several occasions.

Beyond work

Outside of work, Matthew has a strong interest in film and sport, and enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also volunteers as a coach for the Kaipātiki First XV rugby team, contributing to the development of young athletes in his community.
