With a physics background, and dual-qualified as a UK and European patent attorney, George brings a broad technical and legal knowledge to his role in AJ Park’s engineering and ICT team.

George is qualified as a patent attorney in the UK and Europe, and has experience helping clients to obtain patent protection around the world. He specialises primarily in drafting and prosecuting patent applications but also advises on freedom to operate, patentability and registered design protection.
With a Master’s degree in Physics from the University of Exeter and postgraduate research experience, George has a strong technical foundation and keen interest in a broad range of technology. George’s work as a patent attorney has seen him involved with a diverse range of clients, from start-ups to world-leading companies, and he particularly enjoys working with early-stage cleantech innovators.
Experience
George started training as a patent attorney in 2017 with a UK-based intellectual property firm, specialising in electronics, computing and physics. He dual-qualified as a European and UK patent attorney before leaving the UK to join AJ Park in New Zealand. George now works predominantly with New Zealand-based clients, helping them to protect their innovations in local markets and around the world.
Beyond work
George lives in Whāingaroa, Raglan and largely spends his free surfing.
