Dr Clare Allen
AJ Park IP Limited, Wellington
Clare joined AJ Park in January 2019 as a patent executive in AJ Park’s chemistry and life sciences team.
Clare trained as a research scientist in the field of insect viruses in the UK. This experience allowed her to take up a postdoctoral associate position at the USDA-ARS in Gainesville, Florida. When she returned to the UK, Clare decided that it was time to step away from the laboratory, but she was still determined to be involved with science. Clare joined a UK intellectual property (IP) firm and gained valuable experience as a formalities administrator. She was awarded her postgraduate certificate in IP in 2018, and is now training to become a patent attorney in New Zealand and Australia.
